2/15/11 Matt 6:16-18
“And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Fasting should be an inward experience with God. Like a cheerful giver we aught to be cheerful in fasting. When the end result of spiritual growth and triumphant victory is considered, being sad and downtrodden should have no place in the inward man, nor should it have any place in the outward man.
2/16/11 1 Corinthians 9:27
But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
We exercise control over many things in life. We even dare to exercise control over aspects of other people’s lives. However when it comes to ourselves we fail to time and time again. Dominion and control of one's self means a greater awareness of God's plan for our lives.
2/17/11 Mark 9:29
And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.”
We all know that pushy co-worker that just won't take no for an answer. You know, the one that won't stop until you give in. Well we should be just as pushy. There are some things in life that can only be dealt with by constant and persistent prayer.

2/18/11 Psalm 69:10
When I wept and humbled my soul with fasting, it became my reproach.
Stay your course and stay on the righteous path. Pray that God gives you the strength to endure not only the flesh but also those who are nay sayers and those who are unbelievers that will mock you.
2/19/11 Matthew 6:11
Give us this day our daily bread
When you consider the complexities of creation, how every atom, molecule, animal, creature, and every being was created by one God who not only created but whom also sustains. Trusting and relying on him for our every being should come second nature. Easier said than done one may say. I implore you give him your all, because he has already given his son.
2/20/11 Esther 4:15-16
15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
Though fasting is considered a solemn worship, corporate fasting and prayer can also bring victory to many. Joshua said “As for me and my house, we will serve the lord,”. Esther took a bold stand of faith and saved many.
